My First 7/11 Run. My First 5K Run.

I did my first “fun run” in 2015 hosted by JCI. Given that I didn’t have a regular jogging or running habit, I registered for the 3k one. We just went around a portion of the area inside Cebu Business Park. but it felt like all my blood went rushing up my face! 😉 Yeah, I’m mestiza like that. LOL!

Fast forward almost 3 years later, we heard about the first ever 7/11 Nationwide Run happening February 04. I personally wanted to try the 10k  (haha!) but good thing they knocked some sense into me, because 5K was not a breeze! At least not for someone whose fitness and activity level couldn’t be more sedentary! 😉

So this time, the route actually included outside of Cebu Business Park and back. And about halfway, I already felt all the blood rushing up my face! So yeah, it was a run-jog-walk-run cycle until I was able to drag myself to the finish line! 😀

And you know what was waiting for us there? Freebies!!! A whole lot of freebies! Ice cream, drinks, food, snacks, and more drinks! If I’m totally honest, it wasn’t my legs or my feet that hurt afterwards, it was my arms – from all those carrying going on! Lol!

Happy Kiddo with the Finisher Medal (chos!) and the freebies!!!

So yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if next year’s 7/11 Run would double in attendance.

And now, because I am ambitious like that, I am again signing myself up for another blood-rushing run. the SM2SM2018 Run, and this time, I’m trying my limits (walking limits?) on their 12K.

With less than 2 weeks to go, I’m not really sure what I’m getting myself into. Haha! But you know what they say, you’ll never know unless you try.
